The Psilocybin Facilitators Association (PFA) is a professional home for licensed psilocybin facilitators committed to ethical practice, ongoing growth, and meaningful connection. Whether you’re seeking clients aligned with your values, advanced skill development, or a supportive community to counter the isolation of this work, PFA provides the resources and network to thrive.

Together, we elevate the standards of psilocybin facilitation, advocate for our field, and foster a culture of collaboration—because healing is not a solitary journey.

Finding Clients

When people begin looking into legal psilocybin services, they often feel overwhelmed by the choices of providers. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to finding the best client-facilitator match. The personality, core values and life experiences of the provider and client must compliment one another. The most successful therapeutic practice rests on a genuine feeling of safety and trust, which is only possible when the client feels truly seen.

While occasionally, service centers receive inquiries from clients asking for the licensee representative to recommend a facilitator for them, most clients do their own due diligence in identifying someone with whom they feel an affinity. PFA provides an opportunity for its members to find successful therapeutic matches with clients who are looking for someone just like you.

Skill Development and Continued Education

Psilocybin facilitation education programs do their best to source experienced teachers and offer most current information about scientific discoveries and policy developments that will impact our work. Yet, the real work of supporting clients begins after the classroom experience and practicum conclude. People are different and bring with them a variety of presenting issues and desires that could not possibly all have been addressed during your schooling.

As a facilitator, our work can feel isolating. Coming together with other providers to share observations about clients’ material, their reactions (physical and emotional) to psilocybin, their projections and transference, as well as our own counter-transference is a vital resource.

Facilitating psilocybin journeys requires life-long learning and growth from the provider. PFA helps find continued education opportunities that will support your ongoing professional growth and meet regulatory requirements for licensed facilitators.

Community

Find professional connections and possibly life-long friends who share your passion for helping others and exploring beyond the ordinary with the help of psychedelics. Healers are often finding themselves isolated, misunderstood, and marginalized. Coming together with others in the same profession can help counteract some of the stigma we experience, and it helps us remain grounded and connected. Being part of a supportive community is a vital aspect of self-care. Beyond professional support, PFA can offer an opportunity to create and maintain personally nourishing relationships.

As more states consider the development of their own licensed psilocybin services, questions about best practices, demand for services in the field, industry-specific concerns and advantages, questions about sustainable business practices and much more are best addressed by professionals in the field. PFA serves as a unified voice that can help clarify what licensed psilocybin facilitators do and how they practice their craft. These insights are valuable to potential clients, regulatory agencies and people working on policy development.
